Our Favorite Places Near The Oak Hill Community!
Our Oak Hill community is located in the heart of Collierville at the corner of Shelton and Collierville-Arlington roads! It is the perfect place for families to settle into with some of the best amenities Tennessee has to offer. As we continue to welcome many new homeowners into this growing local community, we know a change of location can leave you wondering what your new area has to offer. There are so many fun things to do in Collierville, but we want to highlight three of our favorite places that are all within three miles of the Oak Hill community!
H.W. Cox Park
Distance from Oak Hill Model Home: 1.8 Miles
Within biking distance from the Oak Hill community, HW Cox Park is a local favorite full of activities! Lovingly known as Powell Park (due to its location on Powell Road), this 67-acre park is home to multiple lighted soccer fields, baseball fields, tennis courts, and large grassy fields. There is also a large playground with a jungle gym located next to a covered pavilion! You can often find many people running, walking, or even roller-blading the hilly, one-mile loop that goes around the park. This path also continues into an extended trail, perfect for a nature-walk or a good run! The complex is also home to Collierville’s local theatre and a fitness center.
Wolf River Nature Trail
Distance from Oak Hill Model Home: 1.7 miles
Located in Johnson Park, the Peterson Lake Nature Center is a true escape into a peaceful environment full of wildlife and greenery. This beautiful 3.9-mile nature trail begins on a wooded path, developing alongside the Wolf River, before eventually turning into dirt trails before looping back. You will often find a combination of runners and walkers on this pet-friendly trail. Along the route, you can find a variety of trees and other plants and will most likely spot a deer or two. The route has rest areas with benches and even a private gazebo!
Collierville Town Square
Distance from Oak Hill Model Home: 2.8 miles
The Collierville Town Square is the trademark of the town! The land the town square is built on was given as a gift when Collierville became incorporated in 1870. There, you can find a beautiful small park with a gazebo in the middle surrounded by an old train station, wonderful restaurants, stores, and even a coffee shop! The Town Square hosts an annual market “Fair on the Square” and a summer concert series “Symphony on the Square” each summer. When the square isn’t hosting family-fun events, you can find people picnicking or learning about the town’s rich history. Some of our favorite places “On the Square” include Square Beans coffee, Raven & Lily restaurant, and Mensi’s ice cream! There is also the Morgan Morton Museum with detailed information about Collierville’s beginnings located one of the town’s oldest churches.
There are so many more fun activities and places that Collierville offers, but these are three places located close to our Oak Hill community that we wouldn’t want anyone to miss! Whether you’re moving to Collierville or Collierville has been your home for years, you are bound to find plenty of ways to spend your time. We are so proud to call this town our home!
