Employee Spotlight: Whitney Harvey

A very special employee that we are spotlighting for the month of April: Whitney Harvey! If you know Magnolia Homes, you know Whitney Harvey. She is an incredible employee who goes above and beyond to provide excellent service to our homeowners, as well as being an all-star coworker! She loves her people so well and it’s a gift to be able to call her our friend! Choosing her for the April spotlight is perfect because its also her birthday month! You’re a star to us each and every day, Whitney, but especially this month!

Favorite part of your day-to-day?

I have so many favorites!!  This can be both my favorite and least favorite depending on the day but overall I would say the opportunity to solve new challenges and learn something new.  Even after 15 years in the industry I still learn a new tidbit every day – sometimes multiple!!  In homebuilding every day is unique and I am always working to learn and adapt.  We have a truly incredible team that is supportive and ready to jump into whatever has arisen!!  Being able to positively collaborate with them and knowing they are always ready to dive in with their valuable perspective and support is something I am incredibly grateful for and makes any new challenge seem less daunting.  Another is to see a homeowner’s dream, vision, and hard work come to life and be able to witness their journey throughout the whole process to move-in day and beyond – I know none of our team ever takes for granted the weight of this significant moments in our homeowner’s lives!!

favorite lunch spot?

I love Cheffie’s!

Go-to Coffee Order?

Iced Honey Vanilla Latte or Chai latte from Square Beans!

Hobbies Outside of Work?

Reading, Pickleball (with the PickleBelles), Cheering on UT Vols, Traveling!

A Silly or Sweet Work Memory to share!

Silly: On one of our company trips – Trekking up Dunn River Falls in Jamaica (literally IN the waterfall) with our entire team + spouses and fearing for our lives as we were doused with flowing water and slipping on each rock the whole way + being videoed up close and personal!!  Also to add some additional danger to that trip there was also a memory of taking a questionable bobsled ride in a wobbly sled on a rickety track!!  Good news – we all made it out alive with minimal injury and vivid and lifelong memories!!

Sweet:  Our whole team came to support me at MBJ 40 Under 40 last year complete with the sweetest posters, cowbells, and video message!!

If you were stranded on a deserted island and you were able to choose one coworker to be stranded with, who would you choose and why?

I would like to donate my time on the deserted island to Gus Garner, our Magnolia mascot, so that he may frolic, play, and hunt to his heart’s content!!

Great answers, Whitney! So much fun getting to know more about our Magnolia Homes Team!
