Employee Spotlight: Ryan Arthur

Our employee spotlight feature continues with our fourth edition! This has been such a fun feature to implement, and we have loved highlighting our wonderful employees. Today, we’re putting the spotlight on our very own Ryan Arthur! Here’s what he has to say:

What is your role at Magnolia Homes?

I am a New Home Specialist (Realtor) and make up half of the team in Cypress Grove and The Cove!

How long have you been a part of the Magnolia Team?

10 years! I have earned two certifications in my time here that I’m very proud of: Home Sales Professional from the National Association of Home Builders and I am an Accredited Luxury Home Specialist.

Favorite part of your Day-to-day?

I have the best office in the area! I get to sit in a Magnolia Homes model home!

The best part of my day is when someone who needs a new home walks through the door.

I love finding out their wants, needs, and desires for their new home. In a lot of cases, this is someone’s dream home and I get to be a part of that experience. Everyone is different, so it’s always exciting and new.

Favorite Lunch spot?

Wow, impossible to pick just one. In a previous job I used to call on restaurants for advertising and became a foodie. The city is blessed so many good places! Tell me what part of town, and I can make a suggestion! I’ll just say where I ate yesterday for lunch: Young Avenue Deli. Great sandwiches and their fries have won awards!

Go-to Coffee order?

Easy one, nothing fancy, but I am a little snobby about this. Starbucks Venti Americano (hot or iced) black. I do accept gift cards.

Hobbies Outside of Work:

I go back to the foodie thing. I tell my wife all the time  “I don’t hunt or fish or play golf, so If want to eat lunch out on my day off I will!” We do have season tickets to the University of Memphis men’s basketball. We also are involved in our church. Our children are young adults now, so anytime we get to spend with them is awesome.

A Silly or Sweet Work Memory

With over 10 years of memories, it’s hard to pick one. I think of the people I have meet through the years and helped them build a home. When you build a home over 11 months with a family you build a special relationship with them. The owners are so happy to see the home finished. Those are the sweet times. They are truly part of the Magnolia family!

If you were stranded on a deserted island and you were able to choose one coworker to be stranded with, who would you choose and why?

First, all my co-workers are awesome. I love when we can get together as a group. Fun times!

Being stranded on a deserted island would take a set of skills I do not have. I would have to pick someone who would help me survive. I would say Joey. The man can fight, so that would lead me to believe he could hunt and kill animals for food.  He is a jack of all trades and can fix anything, so he could build shelter and maybe a boat to get us off the island. If I remember correctly, he has told me he was a Boy Scout or maybe an Eagle Scout? Those skills would come in handy! Joey also is one of the most easy-going people I know. He would not panic in the situation.

It was so fun getting to know more about Ryan! We sure do love him and all that he brings to the Magnolia family! One thing he did forget to mention is that he is an expert at Halloween costumes and could be a fantastic Guy Fieri or Colonel Sanders impersonator!
