Design Items to Consider When Building Your Dream Kitchen

What do you envision when you envision the kitchen of your dreams? For the culinary experts, this might include a variety of high-end cooking equipment. For the person who loves to host, this could mean an expansive kitchen island with plenty of seating. For the homebody, they might envision a bright and minimalistic kitchen with an appliance garage. One thing is for certain: this answer varies from person to person! That’s the beauty in working with a homebuilder who has been in the business for nearly 40 years – we’ve built it all and have the expertise to help you bring your dream to life.

Today, we’re featuring a few design items to consider when building your dream kitchen! These ideas come from our very own Design Team, and we are so excited to share these with you!

One thing our Design Team emphasizes throughout our time is that we’re building a home that is best fit for your family and your lifestyle! For example, our Design Center Specialist Catherine Griffin mentions her dream kitchen would definitely include a walk-in pantry and a scullery! This would provide her with the abundance of storage space and also a secondary area for additional items, such as appliances or dishes, when hosting.

Something we also work alongside our homeowners to create is a space that is timeless. When we asked Ms. Karen, the founder and President of Magnolia Homes, she mentioned that a stone Vent Hood is a must-have in her kitchen! The design is so classic and stately and will captivate you and your guests for years to come!

When interviewing the Design Team, each one mentioned their desire to elevate the island space in their dream kitchen! Shannon Parker, our Design Center Manager, said her dream would be to have an island that is extended in length with ample depth so there’s plenty of seating for guests, as well as additional storage space. Whitney Harvey, our VP of Sales & Marketing, mentions that she would love a microwave drawer in her island, which is such a convenient way to maximize space. Catherine also said she had to have one side of the island utilized for cookbook shelves – a necessity when preparing a homemade meal!

More than convenience, our kitchen also serves as one of the spaces we spend the most time in. Whether with guests or partaking in the day-to-day activities of family life, the kitchen is the heart of your home! That being said, of course our dream kitchens must include stunning designs and timeless palettes! Kaitlyn McKay Stafford, our Design Center Coordinator, says her dream kitchen would include Silestone countertops that continue as the backsplash. Whitney mentions she would add cabinet appliance panels for congruency in style. Each of them agreed wooden beams on the ceiling and even a large window over the sink would bring a warm and inviting feeling to the space as well!

These are just a few ideas that we would incorporate into our own dream kitchens, but we hope this has been helpful to inspire you for your own! Are you ready to get started on the space where your best memories are made?! Give Kelsey a call today! 901-309-0710
